Trip info - The Estuary
Enjoy a scenic one hour boat trip along the River Teifi, taking in the historic village of St Dogmaels and the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. During the journey, you will have the chance to speak with the Captain, or his skipper, his 90 year old father, who can share stories of the river’s rich history dating back to the 11th century. Their insight brings to life how the Teifi once supported a thriving fishing and shipbuilding industry, and how generations of local people earned their living along this beautiful stretch of water.
The trip departs from Cardigan Bridge jetty in Cardigan town and travels downstream towards the mouth of the estuary at Gwbert. Along the way, there will be plenty of opportunities to take photographs of the stunning scenery and local wildlife.
On your return, you may wish to enjoy a walk around the historic town of Cardigan and discover some of its local delights.
